Key Challenges to Overcome
We believe that there is a quantity problem and not a quality problem when it comes to people of color in STEM. We must therefore create strategies to address the four key challenges simultaneously:

These challenges as (described on the left) include but not limited to Funding, Access to Quality Training, Acquiring Strong STEM Academic Background, and Strong Mentoring Resources, etc.
STRATEGY
The ultimate strategy is to have a resurrected Civil Right Era movement, but this time with a sharp focus on becoming number one in-terms of the number of new entrants, graduation in STEM education/training and entrepreneurship in the world.

Initially, recruit 100+ organizations/ communities represented in 5 working groups that stimulate:
-
Participant Engagement
-
Training/Professional Development
-
Career Support Systems
-
Long-term Innovations
-
Industry Development
IMPACT
Well structured, coordinated and result driven community activities:

The strategy is to collaborate with organizations, philanthropic and celebrity individuals to raise awareness and fund direct action plans thru functional structures:
-
Lead Organization – ySTEM is the lead organizer and fiscal agent
-
Steering Committee – subject matter experts who are engaged in shaping STEM outcomes around the USA
-
Advisory Council – respected, influential, and diverse decision-makers that guides the mission and goals of the movement
-
Chapter Organizations – accomplish the mission and goals of the movement from all angles
-
Members-at-Large – stakeholders actively engaged in the movement
